You spec a fixture. The price looks right. Installation goes fine. Then eleven months later, one of the outdoor wall lights flickers, the finish starts to haze, and the facility manager is on the phone asking who's going to pay for the lift rental.

- Offer a clear warranty and a real person to explain it
- Provide LM-80 data and UL 1598 listings
- Avoid vague phrases like “driver varies by configuration”
If a supplier can't tell you the driver model, ask why. If they won't share LM-80 data, ask why. If the quote has no line items for mounting hardware or control components, ask what's not included.
The vendor who lists all costs upfront—even if the total looks higher—usually costs less in the end. That's not a theory. It's a pattern I've watched repeat on job sites for years.
Bottom line: aloe doesn't thrive in low light, and a lighting system won't perform without the right environment and information. Spec the environment, spec the system, and buy from a manufacturer that's willing to show you the details.
